
Jolanta Darczewska

Jolanta Darczewska (1950–2025). Graduate of the Pedagogical University in Cracow and Jagiellonian University, earning a doctorate in the humanities. She began her work in OSW in 1992. Since 1993 she held managerial positions: head of Press Department (1993–1998), head of Security and Defence Department (1998–2004), deputy director of OSW (2004–2007 and 2012–2015) and director of OSW (2007–2011).
Since 2007 she was a member of the Council of the Aid to Poles in the East Foundation (from 2009 to 2016 she was the vice-chairman). Member of the editorial board of the bi-monthly “New Eastern Europe” journal (2008–2013). President of the Jury in the “Ambassador of the New Europe” competition (2012–2013).
